We are part of the international network of Hy-Line International, a pioneer company in layer hen genetics.

Founded in 1936, Hy-Line International was the first company in the world to apply the hybridization of different genetic lines to obtain more resistant and productive hybrids.
Today, it is globally recognized as a benchmark for research, innovation, and genetic selection in the layer hen sector.

The parent stock used by Hy-Line Italia comes directly from the parent company.

Allowing farmers to work with latest-generation genetic lines, selected to maximize productivity and adaptability in every farming system.

In addition to supplying chicks, Hy-Line Italia also offers technical, veterinary, and feed formulation consultancy services, constantly supporting its clients in achieving optimal performance.

LOur production facilities, hatchery, farms, and offices are located in Northern Italy, from where we efficiently organize the national and international distribution of our chicks.

All our layers are selected to ensure high productivity, robustness, adaptability to different farming systems, and egg quality.

We offer three lines:

HY-LINE BROWN

The reference "red" hen for the Italian and European market. Lays brown-shelled eggs, and is valued for its production consistency and adaptability to different farming contexts, including alternative ones. An extremely docile hen.

HY-LINE BROWN MAX

A variant of the Hy-Line Brown, designed for those seeking a larger egg size. Highly valued in aviary systems. Stands out for its high nesting aptitude.

W80

A white-feathered hen producing white-shelled eggs. It is a resistant, long-lived, and highly efficient genetic line, suitable for long production cycles.

IN OVO SEXING

From January 1, 2027, identification of the embryo's sex before the completion of incubation will be mandatory in Italy.

Hy-Line Italia has already anticipated this regulatory change, equipping itself with the necessary technology to perform in ovo sexing.

This service is already operational and available upon customer request, in compliance with current regulations and respecting animal welfare.

Although not yet required in many foreign markets, Hy-Line Italia is ready to offer this option for international supplies as well, ensuring transparency and innovation throughout the supply chain.

LIGHTING PROGRAM

Correct lighting is a crucial factor in ensuring regular laying and maximizing the performance of layer hens.

Hy-Line Italia provides a customized lighting program, designed based on: Type of farming (cage, floor, free-range, organic), geographical location (natural sunlight exposure),technical management of the facility and production goals

Thanks to this service, each farmer can have a precise guide on the light/dark alternation, optimizing the laying cycle and improving animal welfare. The program is available for all our genetic lines and is provided as part of our technical support service.

EGG-CELL

Egg-Cell is an electronic spreadsheet for collecting and processing production data and key benchmarks during the development and production phases.

You can create your personalized database by filling out the spreadsheet and derive your production statistics, both in numerical and graphical form.

You will receive an email with personalized spreadsheets where you can enter your farm data. This will also allow you to compare the production performance of your animals with the standard references for the breed.
